Police Loadouts for FiveM Roleplay
How to build a FiveM police loadout players respect: duty weapons, less-lethal options, rank gates, trunk guns, and a fair fight against civilian crime weapons.

A police department feels real when the guns match the job. Cadets with carbines on day one, or a whole precinct stuck on the default pistol, both tell players the department is a costume. A duty loadout is a progression system wearing a holster.
Three tiers, not a free arsenal
Split the department into tiers and write them in the rules:
- Patrol. Pistol, taser or other less-lethal, flashlight, radio. This is the gun citizens see most often.
- Supervisor and traffic. A shotgun or patrol rifle in the trunk, signed out for a reason.
- Specialized units. Carbines, shields, and the louder tools, gated behind a certification players have to earn in character.
Police Weapon Pack V2 is built for this. It is 16 addon weapons in one resource, with attachments on most guns, inventory icons, and a spawn list. It sits next to the original police pack, 15 duty weapons of its own, instead of replacing it. Patrol uses two or three of them. The rest stay in the armory.
Less-lethal has to work
If the taser is a toy and the pistol is the only tool that stops someone, every traffic stop becomes a shooting. Less-lethal needs a real effect: a ragdoll, a cuff window, a stun long enough to close distance. Officers should be rewarded for using it. If your rules punish a missed taser and ignore a sloppy shooting, the department will shoot.
Trunk guns and sign-out logs
A patrol rifle in every front seat means every stop is a rifle stop. Put long guns in the trunk or the armory, and require a radio call or an MDT entry to take one out. The log is the roleplay. It also gives internal affairs something to investigate when a scene goes wrong.
Rank-gate the armory in your inventory, not in a Discord message people forget. QBCore, ESX, QBox, and ox_inventory can all hide weapons behind job grade. If a cadet can /giveitem themselves a rifle, the grade check is decorative.
Match the street, then stop
Duty weapons and street weapons should share a time-to-kill. Police win fights with numbers, radios, and vests, not with a secret rifle that hits harder than everything in the city. Read the balance guide before you publish damage numbers.
Armor belongs in the same conversation. A vest that eats a full magazine makes shootings meaningless. A vest that buys one extra second to reach cover makes them tense.
What players notice
They notice matching models on a scene, reload animations that look trained, and a use-of-force policy you actually enforce. They do not notice that you own twelve extra guns nobody is allowed to draw.
Start with patrol. Add the trunk rifle when the department can roleplay the paperwork. Specialized units come after you have supervisors who will take the rifle back.
